And in the recent history India had been the only country actually headed by a woman for more than 2 decades. Actually the current UPA govt is headed by a woman (As the chairman of UPA, SG is the defacto head of govt.). <br />But electing a woman as head of the govt., do you think is gonna change the discriminatory tendency of a culture towards woman? NO not at all. It might help just the way it helped in india to some extent but not wholly. What is needed is a grass root change and a greater representation of woman in lower echelons of the political truss of the society. And that is what the bill has proposed. I am happy that in spite of being a rotten conservative society in some areas India is actually being more progressive than the western counterparts who proclaim themselves to be more liberal(actually i believe they are more liberal). Look recently Indian Supreme Court has ruled that homosexual marriages are legal.(No other country in the world has done it yet and I kno u are against it just for your religious reasons and actually given a concession for your own rational conscience for the sake of religion in that matter)sombernightshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14312049836688965230noreply@blogger.com
